Second String
Second String was born at Warren Wilson College in the winter of 1996. The four original members, Lance Mills (guitar & voice), Ty
Gilpin (Mandolin & voice), Jones Smith (stand-up bass), and Will Chatham (banjo & voice), are all featured on these songs. Ferd Moyse was later added on the fiddle, but no
recordings exist with him in the lineup. Second String disbanded in the summer of 2001.
